We are currently recruiting a further field crew (position 1 - Fixed Wing UAV Pilot, position 2 - Ground Station Operator) to work on a continuous program for defence in Australia. After a two month training program at our headquarter in West Wales, the successful new recruits will embark on a four month assignment for a defence project in Australia. Candidates will have ample field crew experience with operating fixed wing large UAVs for surveillance purpose. Aircraft to be deployed to Australia will be our UK manufactured Dragon D15 and D25 unmanned systems. Details of these aircraft can be found here - www.uave.co.uk. Surveillance equipment and payload operator will function in addition to the field crew roles and will be responsible for gimble mounted surveillance cameras and IMSAR synthetic aperture radar equipment.
Responsibilities
The field crew will be responsible for mission planning of complex BVLOS operations along with our client, regulatory compliance, equipment maintenance, pre and post flight checks and the preparation of detailed flight reports on completion of each sortie. The work will include both day time and night time flight operations. Extended working days are to be expected working within the context of rotational shift work. Team working responsibilities aligned with being an excellent communicator is required.
Qualifications
Candidates will have a GVC and will otherwise be trained by ourselves on our specific large fixed wing Dragon UAVs during July and August prior to going on assignment in Australia. Prior experience with large fixed wing UAS deployed for a surveillance purpose is essential. It is likely that experience will have been gained within a defence context.
