About the Role
Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant.
Salary: £45,400 - £68,200 depending on skills and experience + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

As the Marine and Fisheries Policy and Strategy Manager, you'll be responsible for developing SSER strategy, influencing government and industry policies on Marine and Fisheries, and promoting innovation and research to ensure timely and efficient execution of SSER's Offshore Wind Farm projects, and the effective delivery our renewable energy and biodiversity objectives.
Some of your other main accountabilities will include;
- Collaborating with Consent, Development, and Environmental teams throughout the business to ensure a comprehensive SSER-wide strategic approach to Marine and Fisheries and the development of offshore wind farms.
- Providing strategic input concerning Marine and Fisheries issues, promoting and shaping the creation of policies with both Government and Industry Bodies to ensure that SSER's strategic approach is integrated into feedback on consultations and policy formulation.
- Representing SSER at relevant Marine and Fisheries research groups. Identifying and developing research and innovation projects to deliver SSER Marine and Fisheries Strategy.
- Work with Corporate Affairs and stakeholder management teams to deliver coordinated and effective engagement programs in line with the SSER strategy.
- Liaise closely with relevant project units and groups to pinpoint evolving issues and provide insights and updates to ensure the prompt and efficient progression of projects.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Knowledge of Marine and Fisheries Policy, legislation and guidance relating to Offshore Wind Farm development across the UK and Ireland
- Excellent knowledge of the Marine and Fisheries Sector gained from interaction with offshore wind farm development, research community and other marine industries.
- Technical knowledge of the Marine and Fisheries planning processes and legislation, including Fisheries Management Plans, Shipping and Navigation, Marine Spatial Planning, Underwater Noise Mitigation and MPAs
- Expertise in creating concise, clearly structured technical documents and reports.
- Ability to present and communicate complex ideas to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
