As a Test Engineering Manager, you'll work closely with our leadership team to build a world-class test engineering group. You'll be a "player-coach," focused on attracting and developing test engineering talent, but also staying hands-on in the technology to oversee the development of an outstanding product and customer experience, with a relentless focus on quality. The successful candidate will be able to lead the test engineering team in delivering quality solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You'll have a proven track record building platforms and scaling engineering organizations while executing critical programs. As part of a dynamic and exciting development center, the role will develop the next generation strategy for the test solutions, leverage and innovate the latest progressive testing and environment toolsets, and utilizing state-of-the-art software test techniques. The role is responsible for leading a variety of situations and types of projects, ranging from a team of one to a team of many. Duties and Responsibilities Establishing technical direction across the organization with a sound and pragmatic approach with overall goal to reduce testing cycle times through continuous integration and deployment. This applies to all forms of testing for structural, behavioral/non behavioral such as but not limited to, Application Testing, Functional Testing, System Testing through an TE function within the Features Teams. Heavily influence the opinions for 'building in' testability during all phases of the SDLC with emphasis on the design and development phases through continued collaboration with platform developers, architects, and engineering. Work with Engineering Leadership on cross-functional objectives such as the delivery of an holistic automated provisioning tool chain to support a continuous integration / continuous deployment archetype. Anticipate resource needs, recruit and develop top engineers. Work with Engineering Leadership in bringing Lean best test engineering practices to the existing teams and Payroc Continually improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the TE function within the teams by assessing current practices, incorporating new strategies through the provision of coaching / mentoring. Manage TE function across multiple teams through their respective leads to ensure efficient execution of multiple simultaneous projects. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. 7 Years in a Test Engineering or similar position. 1 Years in a management, supervisory, or team lead role is preferred. Passion for coaching and developing test engineering talent Passion for software testing and for developing high-quality, robust test solutions. Strong background and hands-on experience in several automated testing tools, such as SpecFlow, Playwright, K6, JMeter, Robot execution framework. Strong understanding of building out and orchestrating Performance Test Plans Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Delivery solutions and tools such as Azure DevOps, ,TeamCity, Chef, Ansible, or other ALM solutions. Experience with technical solutions across N-Tier systems. Ability to define the test strategy for the robustness of hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructures Ability to define roadmaps to execute on project initiatives. Ability to consider multiple factors in decision making at strategic and tactical levels Familiar with diverse, complex testing problems and adept at devising reasonable solutions or alternatives. Proven experience designing maintainable testing solutions for complex, large, scalable, distributed environments for both functional and non-functional testing. Tolerant of high degrees of ambiguity, and good at resolving uncertainty and setting direction. Willing to backtrack, seek multiple solutions and experiment to validate approaches. Creative, Investigative, Innovative, Insightful and able to make technical leaps, finding novel solutions. Superior analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
