APT Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated special educational needs (SEN) room in a Coventry primary school. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a wide range of needs, including ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), non‑verbal communication, EAL (English as an Additional Language), and personal care requirements.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
* Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with diverse SEN needs
* Assist with personal care routines, ensuring dignity and safeguarding at all times
* Adapt learning resources and strategies to meet individual pupil requirements
* Support non‑verbal and EAL learners with communication and inclusion
* Promote positive behaviour management strategies for pupils with challenging behaviour
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to track progress and outcomes
👤 Candidate Requirements
* UK primary school experience is essential
* Proven experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and complex SEN needs
* Strong understanding of ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and EAL support strategies
* Empathetic, patient, and resilient approach to working with primary‑age pupils
* GSCE in English and Maths (or equivalent)
* Enhanced DBS and references (APT Education will support with compliance)
