Salary: Grade M £56,475 - £61,133 per year
Location: The Council House. Hybrid (at least 2 days office based)
Hours: 37 hours per week

Derby City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Adult Social Care Team Manager to join our dedicated team. You will be joining Derby Adult Social Care at an exciting time; we are reshaping our operating model to improve equality of access and outcomes across the city. You will lead and inspire your team delivering core statutory (Care Act) duties in your team locality, having a positive impact on residents across our community.

Experience of working in partnership with the NHS and others is an advantage, as is a strong understanding of strengths-based approaches, innovative and enabling ways of meeting needs, and promoting independence through assistive technology, equipment and universal services.

- Leading and managing a team of committed social care professionals to deliver outstanding outcomes for our customers.
- Leading culture change, embedding strengths-based approaches maximising the use of assistive technology, equipment and universal services to meet people’s needs, promoting and enabling independence
- Leading and managing the team to embed good quality assessment and support planning, and strong legal literacy, fostering a positive, collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Oversee day-to-day service delivery, ensuring compliance with legislative, policy, and performance standards.
- Developing strong relationships with external health, social care and community partners
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to optimise service delivery and achieve organisational goals.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have…
Social work qualification and registration
- Proven experience in managing and leading teams within a social care setting
- Experience working in Adult Social Care
- Strong Legal Literacy
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge and practical experience of strengths and asset-based approaches
- Knowledge and practical experience of proactive and preventative approaches
- Good IT and digital skills
