On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Continuous Improvement Logistics Engineer on an initial 12-month contract. As the Continuous Improvement Logistics Engineer, you will support assembly operations by developing, optimizing, and improving internal Stores and Logistics processes to aid the delivery of missile systems to UK & international customers.
Role Details
* Position: Continuous Improvement Logistics Engineer
* Pay: £32-£35 per hour Umbrella
* Location: Bolton
* Contract: Monday-Friday, 37 hours/week, 12 months
* IR35 Status: Inside
* Security Clearance: BPSS
Essential Responsibilities
* Support and govern CI reviews to ensure they are robust and sustainable.
* Facilitate and run CI plans to implement corrective and preventative actions.
* Support root cause analysis for externally supplied detail products.
* Reduce defective issues within stores, including rework and non-conformances, using 8D/A3 methodologies.
* Implement process controls and capability improvements based on critical stores and logistics processes.
* Facilitate practical problem solving within manufacturing and logistics facilities.
* Provide technical expertise on Lean tools and change management.
* Manage improvements within the business.
Essential Experience
* Technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21, or
* HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject, or
* BEng in Engineering or Science.
* Manufacturing & Warehousing background (preferable).
* Knowledge of supply chain goods receiving practices (preferable).
* Understanding of MRP & JIT principles, ideally in a stores environment.
* Experience in fast-paced production environments.
* Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Ability to build productive relationships across functions.
* Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, CI, and Quality tools.
* Leading practical problem solving with multi-functional teams.
* Data analysis and interpretation skills.
* Project management experience from start to finish.
* Proficiency in Lean tools, Minitab software, and manufacturing systems.
* Sound understanding of manufacturing, logistics, and engineering processes.
