About You
Your role as a Kitchen Assistant involves preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Responsibilities include managing food supplies, maintaining fridge/freezer temperatures, training new staff, and cleaning. Resident wellbeing is always your priority.
We seek candidates with some kitchen experience and either an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to obtain one. Strong organizational skills, good record keeping, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to respond appropriately. Attendance at safeguarding training and the ability to seek advice and escalate concerns when necessary are required.
