JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client, one of the leading engineering/manufacturing companies are seeking a Procurement Professional to join their team on for an initial 12 month basis, supporting the Procurement and Specialty Products Category areas in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solicit supplier quotations, analyse cost breakdowns, update pricing records, and manage supplier communications.
2. Ensure adherence to internal procurement procedures and industry best practices.
3. Lead and support resource projects, resolve procurement challenges, and address invoice-related discrepancies.
4. Coordinate supplier onboarding processes and foster strong, ongoing vendor relationships.
5. Work in close partnership with the Site Buyer and contribute to the wider Specialty Products and Site procurement teams.
6. Leverage Team Centre for Change Notices and navigate various systems including Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, PROcure, Glovia, STMS, Finance@Work, CICT, EPIX, CPI/BIQ, Supplier Connect, and Lognet.
7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance across quality, cost, logistics, development, and management (QCLDM) metrics.
8. Oversee the end-to-end procurement cycle: negotiating supplier contracts, evaluating bids, issuing purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and managing inventory levels.
9. Maintain up-to-date procurement documentation and uphold compliance standards.

Additional Duties

10. Provide backup support for the Legacy/Service Buyer during periods of leave.
11. Assist the Direct Procurement team in preparing for audits, maintaining documentation, and contributing to internal and external audit processes.

Experience & Skills

12. Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to collect, interpret, and act on procurement data to meet business goals.
13. Analytical Thinking: Skilled in identifying root causes and solving procurement-related challenges.
14. Effective Communication: Proficient in conveying information clearly and professionally across all stakeholders.
15. Project Management: Competent in managing and executing procurement-related projects from start to finish.
16. Procurement Expertise: Deep understanding of procurement methods, systems, and tools.
17. Systems Knowledge: Familiar with a range of procurement platforms and able to adapt to new systems quickly.
18. Purchasing Processes: Understanding of procurement regulations, workflows, and documentation standards.
19. Logistics Coordination: Awareness of supply chain logistics and inventory management best practices.
