Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Service, repair and maintain JCB and other plant equipment to manufacturers' specifications, ensuring machine reliability and safety.
* Inspect machines, record defects and upsell services, enabling financial benefits for the employee.
* Diagnose and rectify electrical, hydraulic, powertrain and other faults prior to and during repair work.
* Operate JCB’s Service Master diagnostic software (training provided).
* Complete detailed work reports with photographs and time allocation via the company’s Service Manager tablet system.
* Complete risk assessments in line with health and safety policy and enforce safe working practices.
* Order parts accurately in coordination with the parts department.
* Collaborate closely with the service department and management team.
* Perform any other duties as deemed necessary to fulfil the role.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Relevant experience and qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* Experience with construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment.
* Good IT skills.
* Knowledge and experience of various machinery, preferably in the construction or agricultural industry.
* Strong relationship‑building skills to develop positive customer experiences.
* Excellent communication skills for internal and external interactions.
* Effective time‑management, setting realistic timescales while maintaining safety.
* A professional presentation at all times.
* A full driving licence and ability to operate machinery on site for testing (training provided).
