Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEND & Personal Care Support)
Location: Milton Keynes (MK)
Rate: 90 - 110 per day (dependent on experience)
We are looking for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist school in Milton Keynes. The school caters for children and young people aged 4 to 19 with a range of SEND needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), communication difficulties, and complex care requirements. This role is ideal for someone with a background in care or experience supporting individuals with personal care needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with complex SEND needs
Support students with personal care and daily routines where required
Assist learners with alternative communication methods, including non-verbal approaches
Help manage emotional regulation and challenging behaviours calmly and confidently
Work collaboratively with teaching and therapy teams to promote independence and inclusion
Key Requirements:
Experience working with children, young people, or adults with SEND or in a care setting
Confidence supporting students with personal care needs
Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
Understanding of or interest in alternative communication methods (e.g. PECS, Makaton)
A proactive, team-focused approach and willingness to adapt to individual needs
