We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and strategic leader to join Agincare's central Facilities & Estates team. Covering our extensive portfolio of sites across the UK, this is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of our estates strategy, facilities management, and capital projects. You will ensure all premises are safe, compliant, sustainable, and welcoming for residents, staff, and visitors.
Main duties of the job
As Group Head of Facilities & Estates, you will take full ownership of the strategic and operational management of Agincare's estates and facilities, including care homes, offices, and other operational sites.
* Develop and implement the Group Estates & Facilities strategy, aligned to commercial and operational priorities.
* Lead long-term asset planning, capital expenditure forecasting, and estate lifecycle management.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, benchmarking service standards and introducing innovative solutions.
* Ensure all premises are safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose.
* Lead planned and reactive maintenance programmes, managing contractors to deliver cost-effective, high-quality services.
* Oversee cleaning, space utilisation, grounds maintenance, and building presentation.
* Act as the Responsible Person for Legionella across all properties.
* Ensure full statutory compliance, including fire safety, gas, electrical, LOLER, COSHH, water safety, and general H&S.
* Monitor risks, remedial actions, and major works, reporting to senior leadership and the AHL Board.
* Lead the planning, delivery, and governance of all capital, refurbishment, and construction projects.
* Manage supplier relationships, ensuring value-for-money and adherence to service standards.
* Lead, coach, and develop the Facilities & Estates team, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and exceptional service.
* Carry out regular site visits, training, and mentoring to promote best practices and safe working standards.
* Produce accurate reports on compliance, maintenance activity, asset performance, and sustainability initiatives.
* Collaborate on ESG and environmental initiatives to reduce Agincare's environmental impact.

Requirements
* Proven experience in a senior facilities, estates, or multi‑site property role
* Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, health & safety, and risk management
* Demonstrated leadership and team development skills, coaching staff to deliver excellent standards
* Practical, solution‑focused approach to problem‑solving
* Excellent communication skills at all levels
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, IWFM or degree)
* Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
