We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Learning Support Worker to work within an outstanding education facility with excellent facilities in a special education needs setting.
You will be working on a 1:1 with a KS3 student. To qualify for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate relevant experience of working with special education needs as an essential requirement for this position and working with children and young people.
The role is initially temporary, however, for the right candidate there is the opportunity of being offered a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
Support student with special educational needs
Assist with educational and developmental activities, adapting approaches to manage the individual needs of the student
Continually promote a positive and safe learning environment in supporting the student to build confidence and independence
Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to implement personalised learning plans
Maintain accurate records and contribute to EHCPs and progress assessments
Support with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies as and when required
Skills:
Experience of working within a SEN setting
An understanding of child development and learning strategies
Ability to adapt lessons and differentiate support for meeting various needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are desirable but not essential:
CACHE Level 3
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching & Learning
Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or other communication techniques
First Aid
Safeguarding Certification is essential
