Are you passionate about supporting children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing? We have some brand-new roles for the Coventry and Warwickshire Mental Health in Schools Teams (MHST).
MHSTs are an early intervention and prevention service that support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children, young people, and families linked to schools and colleges. We are growing rapidly and are in a phase of development and expansion, aiming to support 100% of schools by 2029/30.
Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust have a vision for our MHSTs, which includes exciting new opportunities for registered Nurses with experience working with young people and mental health difficulties. If you have a passion for building positive relationships and a curiosity to respond to the mental health needs of children and young people in educational settings, these roles may be for you.
The service is hosting "Let's Talk MHST" information sessions for prospective candidates on Monday 11th and Wednesday 13th August. The sessions start at 17:00 and provide an opportunity to learn more about the service and its expansion. To book, please email risecommunityoffer@covwarkpt.nhs.uk or call 07917504682 to request a meeting link.
The post holder will work as a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse within a multidisciplinary Mental Health Support Team (MHST), delivering evidence-based mental health care to children, young people, and their families across educational and community settings.
As a senior clinician, you will lead triage and initial assessments, including risk assessments and formulation. You will provide responsive, outcome-focused support, including Single Session Therapy (SST) and other brief interventions aligned with the THRIVE Framework and local care pathways.
Working independently, you will manage a caseload, contribute to care planning, and liaise with education staff, families, and other services to ensure safe, integrated support. The role requires confident clinical decision-making and delivering short-term, impactful interventions to promote early access and prevent escalation.
You will also supervise, guide, and support junior staff and trainees, and contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvements. Additionally, you may support the Whole School Approach (WSA) by engaging in mental health promotion, psychoeducation, and collaborative initiatives within schools.
At Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, we offer a wide range of physical and mental health services, learning disability, and autism services, proudly serving communities across Coventry, Warwickshire, and beyond.
We prioritize 'people at our heart'; this ethos guides all we do. We care for our staff and colleagues and offer a variety of benefits and development opportunities, including:
* Generous annual leave, increasing with service length
* Excellent learning and development opportunities, including apprenticeships, distance learning, internal training, coaching, and mentoring
* Salary sacrifice schemes for vehicles, cycling, home electronics, gym memberships, and more
* Discounts with retailers, restaurants, and entertainment venues through our Employee Assistance Programme and NHS discounts
* Wellbeing support, including in-house counselling and external helplines
* Staff networks and support groups
We seek individuals who share our passion for improving community wellbeing and embody our values of compassion, collaboration, excellence, integrity, and respect.
Please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification for further details. As this is a new role within MHST, there will be opportunities to shape and develop the role over time.
