We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior QS/Commercial Manager to join our MOJ contract, supporting our Complex Facilities team on a full-time, permanent basis in Birmingham.
Your New Role
The Senior Commercial Manager will provide commercial oversight and support for minor works and reactive workstreams. Responsibilities include implementing strategy, coaching and developing the commercial team, developing client relationships, and supporting change and conflict management. Standard hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday.
You Will Be Responsible For
1. Implementing and driving consistency of commercial processes
2. Managing risk within the workstream using risk management tools
3. Assessing supplier quotations and payment applications
4. Implementing good commercial practices to drive continuous improvement
5. Working with Finance to control project costs, budgets, forecasts, and reporting
6. Advising senior leads on contractual notices
7. Assessing and reporting on supply chain & client compensation events
8. Maintaining records to support claims and variations
9. Managing KPIs actively
10. Ensuring timely payment applications and pursuing payments
11. Supporting bid and estimating teams in strategic bids
12. Procurement and management of supply chain and subcontractors
13. People management duties, including performance reviews and promoting diversity and inclusion
Qualifications and Experience
* A degree in quantity surveying, commercial, or related discipline
* H&S awareness
* Excellent commercial/financial acumen
* Negotiation skills
* Stakeholder management experience
* Industry awareness
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
* People management experience
