Description
Are you a registered Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for supporting dog welfare in a charity setting?
We are looking for a Senior Veterinary Surgeon to provide veterinary expertise to various teams within the organisation, as well as being a representative for the organisation externally.
What does this role do?
In this role, you'll:
* Coordinate requests for veterinary guidance and advice via email and phone.
* Be responsible for delivering and managing individual projects and the development of SOPs where necessary, under the supervision of the accountable Veterinary Surgeon Managers and Senior Clinical Veterinary Manager.
* Use professional knowledge to provide veterinary information and guidance to the other departments within Dogs Trust.
* Build and manage relationships with the rehoming centres, centre veterinary practices, transfer hubs, referral centres and out-of-hours providers.
* Support the operations, RC and transfer teams with decision-making regarding suitability, biosecurity and safety for dogs to enter Dogs Trust’s care.
Please note, this role is a fixed term contract for one year.
Could this be you?
To be successful in this role, you'll be a registered MRCVS with considerable experience in decision making within a diverse range of small animal practice situations. You'll have excellent and professional communication skills to deliver information clearly and be able to develop good working relationships on an individual basis, and as part of a team. You will be confident working sole charge for consultations and have efficient administration and organisational experience. You'll be committed to the aims and values of Dogs Trust and have a willingness to travel as required for the organisation.
Interviews for the first stage are provisionally scheduled for week commencing 10th November and second stage week commencing 17th November.
