Community First Aider (Doncaster & Barnsley)
Volunteering with St John Ambulance strengthens communities. From youth support and education to wellbeing, events, and fundraising; your time makes a real impact.
At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education.
We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities, and want to make a difference by supporting them to become safe and more resilient through sharing your first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid at local events and provide education to the public to promote the importance of First Aid.
By supporting community partnerships, you will help grow our membership and fundraising efforts and spread the message that First Aid Saves Lives.
Volunteering as a Community First Aider offers a great sense of satisfaction and pride in delivering an essential service. It benefits you, your community, and the nation, requiring only a small time commitment.
We will provide you with a proper induction and the training needed for your role, along with a supportive environment during your volunteering. Details about our volunteer roles are included in the role descriptions, and our volunteer charter outlines what you can expect from SJA and what we expect from volunteers.
We are planning a volunteering selection session on 21st July 2025.
If successful, you will undertake induction and training on these dates:
Welcome Event (Induction) — scheduled after passing screening, with training nights at the unit before the training dates.
Training for role — 14th and 28th September 2025.
The closing date for applications is 21st July 2025.
