Manor of Groves Hotel Golf and Country Club offers a peaceful and tranquil setting in the Hertfordshire countryside. The hotel boasts 80 bedrooms all comfortable and contemporary styled and an onsite leisure club which includes a fitness suite, steam room, sauna and an indoor swimming pool as well as a beauty Spa. We offer conference and banqueting facilities; catering for up to 400 guests, we can host all types of events; from wedding, training workshops, exhibitions to private dinners and balls.
About the role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Health Club Manager to oversee the daily operations of our club. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for fostering a positive environment for both staff and members. As the Club Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service, managing a team, and driving the success of the club through effective customer service management and ensuring health and safety protocols are implemented.
Duties
* Lead and manage a team of staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and morale.
* Implement training programmes to enhance team skills in customer service and membership sales techniques.
* Oversee daily operations, ensuring that all activities align with the clubs health and safety standards and objectives.
* Maintain effective communication with members, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
* Manage administrative tasks including scheduling, inventory control, and financial reporting.
* Develop strategies to increase membership sales and enhance member retention.
* Supervise staff performance, providing constructive feedback and conducting regular evaluations.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the club environment.
Requirements
* Proven experience in team management within health club environment.
* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
* Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Experience in supervising staff and managing day-to-day operations.
* Proficient in administrative duties including record keeping and reporting.
* A keen understanding of sales techniques to drive membership growth.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on member satisfaction.
