Job Title: Op Refined (Security and Strategic Capability Development) - Counter Terrorism Policing HQ
Salary: The starting salary is £47,060, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,652. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Role Summary:
The CTPHQ Op Refind Mission co-ordinates and develops new strand functions to enable CTP to build national capability to conduct specialist investigations and meet the threat against the United Kingdom and her interests.
The Op Refind - Security & Strategic Capability Development role holder will work closely with CTP senior leaders and partner agencies, providing policy advice and briefings on activities pertaining to the mission and operational security in particular.
The Op Refind - Security & Strategic Capability Development will work across the mission offering specialist knowledge and advice as well as formulating and delivering to policy, guidance and best practice, to help improve standards of operational security.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain a good understanding the challenges and opportunities that operating in this field presents to CTP
* Represent the CTPHQ Op Refind Security strand at strategic meetings with partners and other key strategic stakeholders at regional and national level on security matters pertaining to specialist operations and policy.
* Support a quality assurance, inspection & review function in respect of CTP activity, operations, infrastructure, policy and procedures, from an operational security perspective, promoting and maintaining the integrity of operations and the organisation through an independent and objective process.
* Support governance processes as required, which may include formal and informal support for boards.
* Proactively market the services of the CTPHQ Op Refind Security strand in areas where the CT network would derive benefit.
* Provide effective line management, where necessary to CTPHQ personnel working under the Security strand.
* Provision of strategic advice to capabilities regarding their long-term security posture.
* Strategic Capability Enhancement - Reviewing and updating the security posture of capabilities through the provision of advice.
* Gathering organisational learning and managing next steps.
* Analysing and anticipating future security risks, and informing relevant capabilities.
* Assist OpSy's in the delivery of operational security advice.
Vetting
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the post.
This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check (eSC)/Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
As the post holder will have access to very sensitive information, there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries and we will undertake additional security checks as part of the recruitment process. Applications from candidates with close connections to certain countries may take considerably longer to process, or in some cases result in a withdrawal of an offer of employment. Essential Criteria:
* Experience in policy formulation and delivery
* Experience of delivering objectives at a strategic level with both internal and external partners.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively (written and verbal) with personnel at all levels.
* Experience of producing policies and standing operating procedures to enhance accountability and governance.
* Ability to work collaboratively with partners and maintain positive working relationships.
* An understanding of operational security and risk assessments within the management of overt and covert investigations.
* Recent experience of managing risk and security considerations involving overt and covert techniques.
* Good working knowledge of the CTP Network and UKIC.
* Must hold Developed Vetting before starting in role and be willing to undergo supplementary UKIC checks.
* Able to travel/relocate to London
Desirable Criteria:
* Qualified as a trainer with experience of delivering training.
* Completed the College of Policing Covert Law Enforcement Managers (CLEM) training course.
* Completed the College of Policing OpSy Course.
