We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward‑thinking Consultant Radiologists specialising in Cardiothoracic imaging to join our expanding team with a site base of either Royal Sussex County Hospital or Worthing Hospital.
The role requires a thorough grounding in clinical radiology including ultrasound and cross sectional skills in addition to subspecialty skills including Cardiac CT reporting.
An interest in paediatric imaging would be desireable as we enhance our paediatric imaging pathways.

Main duties of the job
The clinical duties of the post include the following:
• General elective and acute (hot) reporting
• General ultrasound list
• Cardiac supervision and reporting
• Lung biopsies
• Supervision of radiology trainees
• Participation in MDMs
• Participation in on-call service
Teaching and training are an integral part with rotating radiology trainees and subspecialty training. Participation in teaching for the radiology Master’s program (MSc) conducted at the medical school is also encouraged.

Experience/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. •Basic medical degree
2. •Postgraduate qualification or appropriate specialist qualification
3. •Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
4. •CCT in Radiology or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
5. •Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
Desirable criteria

7. •Distinctions, Scholarships, prizes, other degrees eg BSc, MSc, MS
Clinical Skills and Experience
Essential criteria
8. •Broad experience of general acute diagnostic imaging (including trauma CT) and general outpatient imaging
9. •Good cross-sectional skills in body and emergency imaging
10. Cardiothoracic experience - CT supervision and reporting
Desirable criteria
11. •Audited outcomes of lung biopsy practice
12. •Experience of US guided IR procedures including drain insertion and biopsies
13. Cardiac MRI reporting
