Supply Chain Planner – Manufacturing

Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Planner – Manufacturing is responsible for planning and coordinating the flow of materials, components, and finished goods through the manufacturing supply chain. This role ensures optimal production scheduling, material availability, and inventory levels to meet customer demand and production targets while minimising waste and cost.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Materials Planning
* Develop detailed production plans and schedules aligned with customer orders, capacity constraints, and lead times.
* Translate demand forecasts into material requirements and coordinate with procurement for timely ordering of raw materials and components.
* Monitor production progress and adjust plans as needed to accommodate changes in demand, equipment downtime, or material shortages.
Inventory Management
* Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods to support continuous production.
* Conduct regular inventory analysis to identify excess, obsolete, or slow-moving stock and recommend corrective actions.
Supplier Coordination
* Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to track order status and ensure timely delivery of materials.
* Proactively address material delays, shortages, or quality issues that could impact production.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Work closely with production, engineering, procurement, quality, and logistics teams to align supply chain activities with manufacturing goals.
* Participate in daily production meetings and provide updates on material availability and schedule adherence.
Systems & Reporting
* Implement and use ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP) to manage planning activities and maintain accurate data.
* Generate reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as plan adherence, inventory turnover, and on-time delivery.
Continuous Improvement
* Support initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance responsiveness.
Qualifications:
* 2–5 years of experience in supply chain or production planning within a manufacturing environment.
* Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP).
* Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing.
* APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is preferred.
