Design and Research Assistant
Due to continued growth Notts Sport is looking to recruit a Design and Research Assistant to join its successful Technical team.
Your work in the technical department will mainly involve producing visual and technical drawings for our Cricket, ChildsPlay and Export departments, working with our current lead CAD Technicians.
The role will involve undertaking testing of sports pitches, writing professional, clear and concise reports and using analytical skills to play a key role in assisting developing new products. Notts Sport is committed to developing and working with the most sustainable product solutions and any development testing will have this in mind. As part of our commitment to quality, regular testing and reporting of existing products will be undertaken in accordance with ISO9001 standards which will be a key part of the role.
You must be a friendly and professional person, trusted by clients and your colleagues, and driven to
succeed.You should be able to manage your time effectively and keep up with the demands of the job that may involve the occasional overnight stay in the working week. Technical experience of artificial turf pitches and testing will be a preference but full training can be provided. Computer aided design experience is preferred although training can be provided by a member of staff or externally.
The role will be split approximately 60% completing high quality drawings, 30% testing new products and undertaking regular quality control testing on existing products, with the remaining 10% supporting on-site pitch testing. The role will be office-based for most of the week but may require time to be spent on the road visiting new and existing sports pitches throughout mainland UK.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare, amend and issue technical drawings/models for wider departments such as Cricket, ChildsPlay and Export, under the guidance of Team Leader for support
• Undertake quality control testing & reports for ChildsPlay and Export departments
• Assist with in-house testing, and on-site survey/testing work where appropriate
• Take instructions from Team Leader, Technical Department and senior staff
• Carry out general administration and support tasks
• Comply with all Health & Safety requirements and practices
Qualifications, skills and competencies:
• Minimum GCSE grades at C-level or above in Maths, English, and Science
• Preferably some experience in drawing production and product development
• Expereince with AutoCAD or Autodesk Revit is preferable
• Good written communication to annotate drawings and complete technical reports
• Strong communication skills to present drawings and technical reports to colleagues
• Self-motivated with good time management
• Reliable team member
• Interest in personal development and career progression through further training
Working Hours: This is a full-time role. Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
