As an SEMH Teacher, you will: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with SEMH requirements. Create a positive, nurturing, and structured learning environment that promotes emotional regulation and academic progress. Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with SENCOs and other professionals. Use restorative and relational approaches to manage behaviour and build trust with pupils. Support pupils in developing social, emotional, and life skills to promote independence and confidence. Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback and adapting strategies as needed. Work closely with support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure each pupil receives consistent and effective care. Requirements for SEMH Teacher: UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is mandatory. Proven experience teaching pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs, ideally within a specialist or alternative provision. Strong classroom management skills and a nurturing, patient approach. Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and safeguarding of all pupils. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
