Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK and is home to some of the most iconic and popular beers & soft drinks, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti and Brooklyn to ale favourites such as Hobgoblin and Wainwright. About the role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join Carlsberg Britvic at a pivotal time as we integrate two iconic businesses and strengthen our tax function. We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can support our tax, statutory reporting, and due diligence process and is keen to grow with the tax team to help shape efficient, future-ready tax processes. You’ll be part of a collaborative team with the opportunity to work with key stakeholders across functions and contribute to the success of some of the UK’s most loved drinks brands.
If you are interested in joining our journey, we are now recruiting for aTax Specialist.Reporting to theTax Manager,this role will play a key part of our succuss journey and you will have the opportunity to be involved in the following:
Role Responsibilities:
* Organise and run Excise Duty Due Diligence Steering Group.
* Manage due diligence questionnaires for duty suspended customers & suppliers.
* Liaise with HMRC and Due Diligence Steering Group on Excise Duty matters.
* Liaise with third party auditors to organise and feedback on duty suspended customer audits.
* Collaborate with Legal to keep Carlsberg Britvic’s due diligence policy up to date and ensure we are compliant and adhering to the policy.
* Support with design of taxation modules of new ERP system.
* Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the group's tax position, implementing necessary adjustments to maintain compliance
* Ad-hoc assistance with preparation and review of tax-related financial reporting schedules in respect of statutory reporting, including tax provisioning.
* Assist with the timely and accurate preparation of corporation tax returns, tax payment calculations & instructing payments.
* Liaise with Auditor’s Tax Team for interim and full-year external reporting requirements.
* Support tax aspects of internal forecasting and budgeting.
Experience and Key Attributes:
* Accounting and/or Tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA, ATT) with broad tax background coupled with proven record of picking up new tax technical skills, knowledge of Excise Duty would be desirable.
* Excellent understanding offinancial processes and ability to drive change to processes and improve the ways of doing things.
* Ability to build good relationships, influence and communicate at all levels of the business.
* Establish collaborative working relationships with external stakeholders including HMRC, auditors, and advisers.
* A self-starter able to work under own initiative and actively prioritise competing activities and deliver to the required quality of outcome.
* Strong analytical capability with the ability to convey complex financial data in a simple and compelling manner to make sound financial decisions.
* Knowledge of Alphatax is a necessity and SAP / BI / Power BI and HFM are desirable.
