We are seeking a motivated activities coordinator, you will be working alongside our team to make our residents day more meaningful.

Job Description: responsibilities
* Organise and co-ordinate activities for active daily living
* Organise an activities programme that will maintain interest and progression over a period of time
* Identify the needs of the collective group and individuals and tailor the activities to suit them
* Encourage involvement from the local community to attend your activities
* You will need to be a committed, patient and caring person with a sense of humour and a positive outlook on life.
* You will also need to be highly motivated and have excellent communicate skills to deliver your activity programmes to a range of people.
* You will need to be able to work well in a team and liaise with other staff, volunteers and residents
* The main aim is to improve the intellectual, physical and overall health of the people in your care
* Some jobs may require you to work flexible working hours
What qualifications do I need to be an Activities Co-ordinator?
There are no actual qualifications required to work as an activities co-ordinator, however if you have a wide range of practical and creative skills e.g. arts, crafts are beneficial.
There may be occasions where you will assist service users with personal care for example supporting people to use the toilet, especially if supporting service users outside of the home environment
More importantly for these jobs you will need to have excellent communication skills, be highly self-motivated and have a high level of self-confidence. Previous experience in working with people in the elderly can also help improve your chances of getting that activities co-ordinator job.
Passing a DBS check is essential.
