Job Title: Bookkeeper - up to £30k - leading Accounting practice
Location: Stockton-On-Tees (occasional working from home if needed)
We are delighted to be working with a well-established and rapidly growing accountancy practice with multiple firms across the UK. Our client specializes in delivering expert accountancy services, ranging from tax returns to bookkeeping services.
They are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Bookkeeper to join their dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Client Interaction: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through face-to-face meetings, phone, and email communication.
* Bookkeeping & Reconciliations: Accurately manage bookkeeping tasks and perform bank reconciliations.
* VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns efficiently.
* Accounts Preparation: Create accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and rental properties.
* Tax Compliance: Handle personal tax computations, submissions, and relevant registrations with HMRC.
* Client Management: Proactively chase clients for necessary information to ensure all deadlines are met.
* Record Management: Review records meticulously and follow up on any missing information.
* HMRC Liaison: Act as a point of contact with HMRC on behalf of clients.
* Ad Hoc Support: Provide additional support to facilitate smooth business operations as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Bookkeeper with strong double-entry bookkeeping knowledge.
* Familiarity with PAYE/CIS processes.
* Hands-on experience in preparing and filing quarterly VAT returns and annual self-assessment tax returns.
* Software experience.
* AAT qualified would be ideal.
