Are you passionate about supporting young people and their mental health?

The Derbyshire Healthcare CAMHS Service has recently gained new investment into the service to enhance the service to young people and families across Derby City and the South County. We have 2 band 6 posts in an already established CAMHS Recovery team in Amber Valley, based at Ripley.

We’re looking for caring, committed professionals to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Recovery team based in Ripley whether you’re a Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist with experience in mental health, we’d love to welcome you into our team

In this rewarding role, you’ll support children and young people up to age who are experiencing a wide range of mental health needs, including trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodevelopmental conditions, and self-harm.

You’ll be part of a compassionate, experienced team that works collaboratively to provide thoughtful and effective care. We offer a wide range of therapeutic approaches within CAMHS, including CBT, Family Therapy, and DBT, and we’re committed to helping you grow professionally through regular supervision, development opportunities, and strong team support.

Main duties of the job

You will be supported to develop knowledge and skills in working systemically with children and families within our experienced, multi-disciplinary teams.

We welcome applications from mental health nurses currently working with adults who want to develop a career within CAMHS.

Through robust supervision and training opportunities, we will aim to develop your knowledge, skills and experience within a CYP IAPT Service.

The service is a locality-based model, which ensures strong team working and high levels of locality knowledge.

The team is supported by a Team Manager and senior clinicians within the service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

CAMHS is part of the CYP-IAPT initiative, and the post holder will use Routine Outcome Measures to influence and evaluate all interventions offered.

The Recovery team has bases in Derby City, Amber Valley and a team across Erewash and South Derbyshire. This post is for Ripley based above the resource centre.

You will receive clinical and managerial supervision and have opportunity to work with the CAMHS improving access to psychological therapies development framework.

We are looking for a suitably-experienced, qualified clinician, who will improve children and young people’s mental health, through providing highly specialist, clinical assessment and treatment within the CAMHS Recovery pathway.

This will involve the assessment and treatment of children and young people who present with a wide range of mental health problems, including trauma, and co-morbid neuro-developmental conditions.

In accordance with national and local priorities, clinical guidelines, the post holder will be responsive to the needs and views of local children, young people and their families.

As a Lead Nurse / Practitioner the post holder will work in partnership with the CAMHS leadership team, Medical Consultants and multi-disciplinary teams, to ensure the highest level of clinical practice in assessment, case management, care co-ordination and treatment.

They will be required to ensure that the best evidence-based care is given to children, young people and their families, within the resources available to the service.

There will be an emphasis upon working with complex-presenting difficulties and multi-agency networks.
