SuperCare is looking for an experienced, confident, and compassionate Day Team Leader to join our children's residential home. In this role, you will lead a small pod of support workers during the day, ensuring high-quality, consistent care for young people with autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and severe learning disabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills who is looking to progress into a Deputy Manager role. As a Day Team Leader, you will lead by example, promoting best practice and trauma-informed, child-centred care, while supporting both young people and the team throughout the day. This role can also offer flexibility working across all our homes in East Sussex, ideal for someone looking to develop leadership skills across a range of complex care specialities. Alternatively, you can choose to specialise in a singular home. You'll gain experience in different settings, support diverse needs, and further develop your expertise in managing and mentoring teams. Requirements Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or young person equivalent) - essential Proven experience in a residential childcare setting - essential Strong leadership and communication skills Full UK driving licence - important What You'll Do Leadership Lead a small pod of support workers during the day, providing guidance, support, and mentoring. Model best practice, safe, and trauma-informed approaches. Support staff in managing behaviours that challenge and provide coaching where needed. Ensure safeguarding, documentation, and professional standards are maintained and clear. Foster a collaborative, supportive, and positive team culture. Supporting Young People Oversee and participate in providing care to young people with complex needs. Support children with autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and severe learning disabilities in daily routines, activities, and community access. Use non-verbal communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton) to engage children effectively. Respond calmly and confidently to behaviours that challenge, ensuring safety for all. Monitor and respond to epilepsy or other medical needs. Additional Duties Assist with personal care and maintain a nurturing, 'home-away-from-home' environment. Support planning, delivery, and review of activities that promote development, independence, and wellbeing. Step in to cover support worker duties as needed to maintain high-quality care.
