Housing Allocations Officer (temp: West London), London
An exciting temporary opportunity has arisen with a Local Authority Client for an Allocations Officer, working 80% from home (one day in the office weekly). The role is for 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday) for an initial period of 3-6 months.
The client is based in West London, near Heathrow Airport. The successful candidate will need to:
* Implement the Allocations Policy effectively to optimize property use.
* Coordinate with local authorities, housing associations, and agencies to meet policy objectives, attending meetings as needed.
* Work with a team to advertise and let council and RSL homes to applicants on the housing register or requiring emergency accommodation due to homelessness.
* Challenge RSLs on nominations arrangements under supervision.
* Provide information on mobility schemes, including out-of-London, seaside, and country homes, and any new schemes.
* Administer housing resource allocations efficiently to meet customer needs and implement the Housing Allocation Scheme.
* Advertise properties and arrange viewings through shortlisting.
Experience with allocating temporary and/or permanent accommodation, and familiarity with Jigsaw, Home Connections, or similar Choice Based Lettings systems is essential. Immediate or short-notice availability (1-2 weeks) is required, as the client seeks an immediate start. An enhanced DBS check is desirable but not essential.
