Job Description
Our Client is seeking a 3D Design Engineer to take responsibility for all aspects of 3D design within our manufacturing environment. This role involves using SolidWorks to produce accurate and professional drawings for internal teams, subcontractors, and customers, focusing on the development of high-quality hydraulic components and assemblies.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Responsible for the safe and accurate design of hydraulic components using SolidWorks/3D CAD and any other required software.
* Ensure all designs meet the latest guidelines and contribute to the development of high-quality hydraulic components and assemblies.
* Apply a sound understanding of the calculations behind component specification and justify design decisions effectively.
* Become familiar with various types of hydraulic seals, including their specifications, materials, and appropriate uses.
* Communicate regularly with customers to support the development and improvement of new and existing products.
* Issue, manage, and update all drawings in line with drawing office guidelines and improve processes in an organised and structured way.
* Project-manage prototypes and new designs, ensuring accurate documentation and full implementation of procedures and processes.
* Work alongside quality personnel to handle queries relating to drawings or specifications, record and act on corrective actions, and take full ownership of any revisions required.
* Visit original equipment manufacturers within the UK to support customer presentations and contribute to business development activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Strong organisational skills and a solid understanding of design for production.
* Proficient in SolidWorks/3D CAD and other relevant software.
* Ability to communicate information clearly and meet deadlines.
* Sound understanding of the calculations behind component specification.
* Knowledge of relevant materials, hydraulic seals, and their appropriate uses.
* Experience in managing and updating technical drawings in accordance with guidelines.
* Flexibility to undertake ad hoc duties as required.
* Familiarity with Hydraulic Fluid Power safety requirements outlined in EN-ISO 4413:2010.
