Dispensing Optician Manager – Aldershot, Hampshire
Role Overview
We’re working with a highly respected independent optical practice in Aldershot, Hampshire that is looking to welcome a dedicated Dispensing Optician Manager to their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a patient-focused environment where clinical excellence and personalised care are at the heart of everything they do. You’ll play a key role in delivering outstanding patient care whilst overseeing the clinical and operational performance of the branch. This position combines hands‑on dispensing with leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for a qualified Dispensing Optician who enjoys managing a team and driving practice performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out high-quality spectacle dispensing including frame styling, lens recommendations and accurate measurements
* Ensure seamless patient journeys through excellent handovers with the Optometrist
* Manage repairs, adjustments and non-tolerance issues professionally
* Oversee spectacle orders and supplier communication
* Maintain accurate clinical records and GDPR compliance
* Support and supervise student Dispensing Opticians where required
* Lead and motivate the branch team, promoting a positive working culture
* Manage day‑to‑day branch operations including opening and closing procedures, banking and keyholder duties
* Support staff training, development and performance reviews
* Monitor stock levels, budgets and branch performance
* Assist with marketing activities, promotions and community events
* Ensure Health & Safety and compliance procedures are maintained throughout the practice
Requirements
* Level 6 Diploma in Ophthalmic Dispensing
* Fully qualified and GOC registered Dispensing Optician
* Previous spectacle dispensing experience essential
* Previous management experience advantageous
