SEN Teacher - Inspire, Support and Transform Learning
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and committed SEN Teacher to join a specialist education team supporting young people aged 7-19 with additional learning needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher who is passionate about delivering personalised, multi-sensory learning experiences that help learners build confidence, re-engage with education, and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will work with learners in small groups, delivering an engaging and flexible curriculum tailored to individual needs, interests, and goals.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues to create innovative teaching approaches that support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally while maintaining a strong focus on wellbeing, safeguarding, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
* Planning, delivering, and reviewing personalised learning programmes
* Creating engaging lesson plans and schemes of work tailored to individual learners
* Using creative and varied teaching strategies to maximise engagement
* Supporting learners to develop confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing
* Advocating for young people and involving them in decisions about their learning
* Maintaining accurate learner records, assessments, and progress reports
* Supporting curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensuring safeguarding, health & safety, and risk management procedures are followed at all times
* Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals

Essential Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Relevant Level 6 qualification
* Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and learning approaches
Desirable
* Previous experience teaching learners with SEN
* Experience working within specialist or alternative provision settings
