Responsibilities
Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEN
Develop personalised learning strategies and EHCP-linked targets
Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Work closely with support staff (TAs, SENCOs, therapists) to ensure consistent provision
Track pupil progress, write reports, and participate in review meetings
Apply positive behaviour strategies to support pupil engagement and wellbeing
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent overseas qualification)
Proven experience teaching children with SEN, either in mainstream or specialist settings
Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive pedagogy
Skilled in managing challenging behaviour and using de-escalation strategies
A proactive, adaptable, and empathetic teaching approach
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
Team Teach or other de-escalation training (desirable, but not essential)
