About The Role
The core purpose of this role is to work as a Fabricator Fitter in a state-of-the-art facility, manufacturing equipment for the defense industry. You will use jigs and fixtures to manufacture components according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
Key Duties Include
* Comply with Environmental, Health and Safety policies and identify hazards prior to work.
* Fit/fabricate aluminium materials using jigs and fixtures following procedures.
* Report equipment faults or unusual occurrences via approved procedures.
* Use drawings and instructions to complete tasks, ensuring components conform to specifications through visual and non-destructive inspections.
* Use hand tools and measuring instruments accurately.
* Complete European qualification of welder approval tests regularly.
* Ensure personal and team safety, applying safety requirements to comply with regulatory agencies.
* Book hours and perform duties using MRP systems like SAP.
What We’re Looking For
You should have completed a Recognised Time Served Apprenticeship in Welding or a relevant discipline, along with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Welding qualifications to ISO 9606 parts 1 and/or 2 are required; ISO 14732 is desirable. Prior practical welding/fitting experience in heavy manufacturing or fabrication is necessary.
