Here at Human Appeal UK we have an exciting opportunity for a People and Culture Officer to join our team based in Cheadle. The role will be required you to be in office full time for Monday to Friday. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year term. In return, you will receive a £24,225 to £32,775 per annum. ​ ​ Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide. ​ As People and Culture Officer, the successful candidate will support effective front line service delivery within the UK People Services and when requested by People and Culture Manager and/or Director support our global and our country offices. ​ The P&C Officer will monitor adherence to organisational policies, such as timekeeping, by using the People CRM system to compile lateness reports to identify issues to be tackled to improve HA’s performance and efficiency. ​ The P&C Officer will maintain up to date records, including pre-employment screening, referencing and employment contracts, on in-house People system and Personnel Files, to meet audit requirements for CHS and Investors in People. ​ The P&C Officer will oversee the administration of HA’s monthly payroll and pension contributions, ensuring that all staff are paid correctly and on time. The P&C Officer will support the P&C team on relevant ad-hoc administrative tasks and with the development and implementation of projects to ensure the delivery of P&C strategy and the development of the P&C function globally in line with HA’s continual growth. ​ Benefits of joining us as our People and Culture Officer include: 35 days Leave Matched pension contribution Employee discounts and memberships Access to wellbeing hub Prayer facilities Access to wide range of Training opportunities Opportunity to really make a difference! ​ Key duties and responsibilities of the People and Culture Officer: Complete assigned projects in a timely manner and according to best practice in line with Human Appeal values, health and safety, legislation and compliance Maintain up to date records on in-house PEOPLE system and personnel files to audit standards Oversee the administration of HA’s monthly payroll and pension contributions, ensuring utmost accuracy and that all payments are delivered on time Monitor organisational performance and adherence to policies by preparing reports on data such as lateness so that issues can be identified and improved Complete pre-employment screening checks (Thomas Reuters) and referencing before new staff are hired Ensure all employment contracts are kept up to date and in-line with legislation Support the wider PC department on relevant administrative tasks What we’re looking for in People and Culture Officer: Essential: 1 or 2 years experience in a similar role. Essential: Excellent written and spoken English additional language would be a bonus. Essential: Experience in using Office software (especially Excel). Desirable: Graduate In HR and working towards CIPD qualification. Desirable: Use of Project Management is desirable.
