ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to successful company expansion, my client is recruiting permanently for a Project Quantity Surveyor. Reporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor who has worked for the company for 8 years, you will be responsible for managing costs with the goal of making as much profit as possible for the company on the projects you’ll be working on and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing client relationships.
As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be accountable for managing up to 3 projects at one given time, with values between £1M-£2M. These will cover highways, bridge infrastructure and S278 schemes for residential developers and local authorities.
Key responsibilities will include managing day to day tasks to provide further commercial support to both project delivery and estimating teams within the company which can be broken down into the following; Assisting in the prompt presentation for all applications for payment and final accounts, including all contractual entitlements / assisting in ensuring that all payments are received in accordance with the contract terms, as well as assisting in the preparation and presentation of monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR) and final cost/value forecasts. This opportunity will also encompass procurement, negotiation and the placing of sub-contract orders; which inevitably leads to assisting in the financial and commercial management of sub-contracts through settlement of Final Accounts.
REQUIREMENTS
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must hold a minimum of 5 years experience in Quantity Surveying and proven experience of working on civil engineering infrastructure projects in the UK. Ideally, you will be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management and have working knowledge of NEC forms of contracts. Due to the office and project locations, you must hold a full UK driving license and reside within 1 hour commute from their office in Kent (hybrid working is available).
Additionally as this is a permanent opportunity, my client is looking for a professional who can demonstrate stability of employment, holding each previous appointment for a minimum of 2 years. As this is a permanent opportunity, unfortunately freelance cannot be considered.
REWARDS AND BENEFITS
For this permanent opportunity, my client is looking to target professionals looking to earn anywhere from £55,000 – £60,000 per annum, however, specific salary will depend on experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer which includes a car allowance of £7,500, 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays, private health care and enrolment on to their pension scheme and profit commission scheme.
