Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net-zero world. We will help to revolutionise personal mobility and transform our towns and cities with clean, noise-free air transportation. Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation. As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months. As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Graduate Power Engineer to design, implement and test motor control units to meet the system and equipment requirements and to a certifiable standard for aerospace applications. Key responsibilities will include: Support / Contribute to the inverter and converter power development Supporting the safety case (ARP4754A/DO254) of the system Supporting the design, development, debug and validation of power electronics for use in inverter and converter products for aerospace applications. Supporting simulation and evaluation of EMC, power and thermal models Schematic capture, PCB layout design and manufacturing support Evaluating component lifetime, limits and derating Supporting EMC testing and the development of technical files Generating documentation including designs, analysis, simulation and reviews Contribute to developing the team's technologies, capabilities, facilities, and processes. Skills and experience required: Degree or equivalent in electrical / electronic engineering, or a demonstrable level of relevant industrial experience Awareness of power electronic devices (IGBTs, MOSFETs, wideband gap devices, Capacitors, Current sensors) Perform design analysis, including worst-case, tolerance, thermal, and stress Using ECAD tools including Mathcad, Simulink, Schematic, PCB, Modelling, Simulation Awareness of EMC compliance and best practices Developing products that comply with functional safety standards (such as ARP4754A / DO254 / ISO26262) Working with high voltage / high current / high-energy systems, following safe systems of work Good communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams Instinctive problem-solving skills coupled with a sound analytical approach Generating documentation to a high standard for internal and external customers Modelling, simulation and analysis of power devices for inverter systems. Desirable: A 'self-starter' attitude with the ability to thrive in a small business environment Ability to work under pressure and manage conflict, demands and deadlines Flexible approach to work Results-orientated, and able to deliver business value Ability and willingness to travel around the UK and Europe.
