An exciting opportunity exists in the Council’s Strategic Waste Policy team for an Assistant Monitoring Officer working from our offices at South Kirkby Main. What will be expected from me? The postholder will be required to demonstrate that they have the following skills, knowledge and experience:- To be an ambassador for the Council when dealing with all stakeholders, customers and have excellent communication and inter-personnel skills. To be self-motivated and can motivate others. To have a good understanding of Health & Safety procedures. The ability to assess problems and provide practical solutions. To have the ability to prioritise conflicting demands. To display good numeracy and literacy skills. To have the ability to multi-task and display a flexible working approach. What I might be doing? The post holder as part of their roles and responsibilities will:- Interrogate the waste contractor’s Integrated Management Information and Report System (IMIRS) to ensure compliance with performance requirements. Assist in the management of the payment process relating performance to payments to the waste contractor. Monitor and ensure compliance with the Waste Management Contract. Assist in producing progress reports as appropriate Ensure inspections of waste management facilities are conducted in accordance with agreed programmes and procedures. Use data management techniques to identify data inaccuracies and report these performance failures through appropriate channels. To assist in the investigation and monitoring of customer complaints relating to the services provided. Ensure direct invoicing of customers using the Council’s accounts system (Agresso). Essential requirements: Current Licence to show no more than 6 penalty points as per current national driving penalties system. 5 GCSE passes (Grade A-C), or equivalent in English and mathematics Car for business use. What can I expect? This is a full-time post of 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Support and ongoing training.
