Job Description:
A secondary school in Andover is seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This full-time role offers a contract through to Easter, with the possibility of extension. You will be working closely with students who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), providing vital 1:1 and small group support to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate with teaching staff to deliver personalised support, helping students stay focused, build confidence, and make meaningful progress. Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver 1:1 and small group support for students with EHCPs, both in and out of the classroom
* Assist with lesson planning and delivery, adapting resources to meet individual learning needs
* Support students social, emotional, and academic development
* Promote and maintain positive behaviour and implement behaviour management strategies where necessary
* Track student progress and provide feedback to teaching and support staff
* Help create a safe, encouraging learning environment for all students
What We're Looking For:
* Experience working with students with EHCPs or Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable
* A genuine passion for supporting students who face barriers to learning
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to support
Qualifications:
* Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
* Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are a bonus but not essential
