The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Health & Safety Consultant to join our London-based project team. This is a hands-on, site-focused role where you'll lead audits, support compliance, deliver training, and advise on safety strategies across multiple active projects. Youll play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and sustainable delivery of complex engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct site visits, audits, and inspections across multiple London sites
Attend project meetings and contribute to safety-related planning and documentation
Prepare and update risk assessments (including COSHH, fire, site processes)
Support RIDDOR reporting and investigation of high-risk incidents
Review and advise on Contractor RAMS and supplier compliance
Deliver or coordinate HSE training (e.g., first aid, emergency response)
Review site management plans, permits, and licenses
Provide consultancy for infrastructure changes and new processes
Handle end-to-end H&S support for insurance/injury claims
Maintain and update H&S policies and ensure legislative compliance
Use digital platforms (e.g., Work Wallet) for H&S KPI tracking and reporting
Develop strategic improvement plans (e.g., ISO or BS accreditation)
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally across public sector, waste, or oil & gas
In-depth knowledge of UK H&S legislation, including RIDDOR and CDM Regulations
Ability to write and review comprehensive risk assessments and safety documentation
Strong communication and training delivery skills
Relevant H&S qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH)
Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across London
Preferred:
Experience using H&S platforms such as Work Wallet
Familiarity with supplier credential verification and contractor compliance processes
Desirable Certifications (Added Advantage):

IOSH Managing Safely / Leading Safely
NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice

First Aid at Work (FAW) HSE Approved
RIDDOR Awareness Training
CDM Regulations Awareness or Certification
CITB SMSTS / SSSTS
ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Certification
