Senior Clinical Fellow Colorectal

This position offers the potential to train in colorectal surgery for a period of one to two years. The default duration is six months, but there may be flexibility to adjust this based on the applicant's needs. There could also be opportunities to rotate between different specialties, including Hepatopancreaticobiliary. A detailed job description for both posts is provided below.
University Hospitals Leicester is the third largest acute trust in England, comprising three hospitals: Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI), Leicester General Hospital (LGH), and Glenfield Hospital (GH). The Leicester Royal Infirmary, located in the city center, is the largest and handles a busy emergency department with over 10,000 attendances annually. Approximately 300 emergency laparotomies are performed there each year under close consultant supervision.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification
Training & Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
* Evidence of commitment to surgical training.
Experience
* At least 2 years of surgical registrar-level experience, either in the UK or abroad (minimum of 6 months in the UK).
Communication and Relationship Skills
* Emotional intelligence and empathy, especially when dealing with cancer patients.
* Ability to cope with stressful situations.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Planning and Organisation Skills
* Effective time management and understanding of the role.
