Construction Senior Estimator Telford £70,000-£90,000 Package Projects up to £30m | JCT D&B Focus | Immediate Requirement Role Summary A Senior Estimator is required to join a well-established construction contractor delivering projects across the Midlands, Northwest, and Wales. This role sits at the heart of the pre-construction team, leading tenders from £100k through to £30m across a mixed portfolio including commercial, industrial, residential, and retirement schemes. You'll be responsible for full cost planning, tender strategy, and value engineering, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to secure profitable work. Key Responsibilities Lead the full estimating function on tenders from £100k-£30m Prepare and submit single-stage, two-stage, and framework tenders Produce detailed cost plans, BoQs, and pricing strategies Analyse drawings, specs, and site conditions to build accurate estimates Drive value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities Work closely with architects, QSs, subcontractors, and internal teams Support pre-construction strategy and advise on client budgets Manage tender submissions alongside bid teams Lead post-tender negotiations and clarifications Mentor and manage junior estimators Report on tender progress, risks, and outcomes to senior management Ensure compliance with UK regs, H&S, and sustainability standards Requirements Proven experience in UK construction estimating Strong background across mixed-use projects (commercial, industrial, residential, etc.) Demonstrated experience delivering tenders up to £30m Solid knowledge of JCT Design & Build contracts (essential) Working knowledge of NEC contracts Strong experience in cost planning, BoQs, and tender strategy Ability to manage multiple tenders in a fast-paced environment Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills Qualifications Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management (or equivalent) RICS or CIOB (desirable) Full UK driving licence Skills & Attributes Strong analytical and commercial mindset High attention to detail Confident communicator (internal client-facing) Ability to lead and mentor junior staff Deadline-driven with strong organisational skills Package & Benefits £70,000-£90,000 (DOE) Competitive benefits package Clear progression opportunities Strong pipeline of varied projects Supportive and established team environment
