English Teacher (QTS) - Basingstoke
Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed and inspiring Qualified English Teacher to join a secondary school in the Basingstoke area. This is a fantastic short-term opportunity for a passionate practitioner who is ready for a new challenge and keen to make a strong impact within a supportive English department.
The role begins immediately after the Easter break and will continue until the end of the academic year, offering stability, consistent teaching responsibilities, and a chance to work with engaged pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The Role:
* Teach English Language and English Literature across KS3-KS4
* Deliver well-planned, engaging lessons with full teaching responsibilities
* Mark work, assess progress, and provide meaningful feedback
* Support a range of learners and help drive progress across the department
* Create a positive, well-managed classroom environment
* Engage with departmental planning and collaboration
Ideal Candidate:
* Holds QTS/QTLS (essential)
* Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching English at KS3 & KS4
* Experience delivering GCSE English (any exam board)
* A proactive classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management
* Positive, organised, and committed to high standards
* Suitable for both experienced teachers and strong ECTs
Contract Details:
* Position: English Teacher (QTS)
* Location: Basingstoke
* Start Date: After Easter holidays
* Contract: Full-time, until the end of the academic year
* Salary: £32,916 - £51,047 per annum
* Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
* QTS/QTLS required
* Secondary English teaching experience preferred
* Safeguarding training required (can be provided)
Eligibility:
* Right to work in the UK
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
* Two relevant teaching references
