Work Skills Coach – Heatherwood Court

1. Location: Pontypridd
2. Salary: £20,405
3. Hours: 22.5

Please note, this role is covering maternity for an expected period of 12 months

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Work Skills Coach to join our team at Heatherwood Court, Pontypridd. This role plays a vital part in supporting service users to develop work-related skills, confidence, and routines that aid recovery and promote meaningful occupation.

Working within a mental health environment, you will support individuals with a range of mental health needs to identify their strengths, set realistic employment or vocational goals, and build practical skills that enhance independence and wellbeing.

Shift Schedule:

This will be 9-5, 3 days per week – we are able to offer flexibility for this role.

Key Responsibilities

4. Deliver one-to-one and group-based work skills coaching to service users
5. Support individuals to develop employability skills such as communication, time management, teamwork, and problem-solving
6. Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure vocational goals align with care plans
7. Assist service users to explore education and training opportunities
8. Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and review meetings
9. Promote equality, dignity, and person-centred practice at all times

Essential Criteria:

10. Experience supporting people with mental health needs, disabilities, or complex needs
11. Knowledge of employability skills, vocational support, or coaching
12. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
13. Ability to motivate, encourage, and build trust
