Location: The Watercress Line - Ropley Station - On site working required
Salary: Competitive
Job Type: Permanent Full Time 40 hours per week (with 30 minutes paid break) - 5 days over 7. Regular weekend, evening and holiday working will be required.
Hours: Core working hours are (Apply online only), however a reasonable amount of flexibility is essential

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, experienced Locomotive Boilersmith/Fitter to be part of a team to carry out the overhaul, restoration and maintenance of our running fleet of steam locomotives and diesel shunters.
As a Locomotive Boilersmith/Fitter the responsibilities of the role will be:
Boiler repairs, including stay replacement, plate work renewal, tubing, hot riveting
Undertake the running maintenance as well as overhaul repairs
Fabrication works - ARC and MIG welding, plasma cutting and oxy-propane cutting
Working to imperial drawings and existing or old components to undertake the repairs required
Removal and fitting of components
Maintaining a safe, clean and tidy work environment
Shunting & plant driving (not essential - training can be given if required)
Workshop & site improvementsKnowledge Skills and Experience required:
Essential;
Experience of working in an Engineering workshop environment
Driving licence
Complementary transferable engineering skills
Knowledge of Welding/fabrication
Ability to read an engineering drawing and work in ImperialDesirable;
