Job summary

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Specialist Nurse into the East Durham community Hub and Intervention team, To provide professional leadership for nurses in the designated specialty, leading on professional development and ensuring the delivery of robust evidence based practice.

The successful candidate will support and develop clinical practice and play an integral part within developing the ADHD service for the East Durham area.

The successful candidate will also offer consultation and education to partner agencies.

The successful candidate will support clinicians within the team with complex clinical cases and liaise with patients and families as appropriate

Candidate must hold registration with relevant professional body (eg. NMC, GMC, HCPC, Social Work-England). A NMP qualification is also an essential requirement for this post.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to become part of a specialised multi-disciplinary team comprising of Consultant Psychiatrist, Nurses, Social Workers and Clinical Psychologists.

Main duties of the job

To participate in the establishment of systems assisting in the development of clinical practice, to ensure that the developments are embedded within the team and are ensure high professional standards of nursing practice in accordance with the NMC code of Conduct, with professional accountability to the Nursing and Governance lead the planning, implementation and participation in training and educational activities relevant to Practice Development for nurses in the designated support in establishing and maintaining high standards and continual improvement within the established governance undertake ongoing audit of care and service delivery, underpinned by research and evidence-based practice. Undertakes research as part of the coordinate and deliver clinical supervision to support all nursing staff within the area of work as a non-medical prescriber within the NMC framework and Trust protocol, in accordance with qualification and competence to provide nurse led diagnosis and treatment planning.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The Clinical Specialist Nurse will take a lead role in delivery of clinical service to the patients and carers we support. This will include supervision of clinicians and playing an active role in clinical decision making along with other clinicians. The post holder will have responsibility for providing clinical leadership to colleagues in assessment, treatment and management of patients .

Qualifications

Essential

1. Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD/ RGN (RNSC - CAMHS Only)
2. Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving.
3. Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving
4. NMP qualification
5. Within the first year of being in post hold a recognised qualification in a governed therapy/advanced clinical qualification Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP (Independent Prescriber
6. And have Equivalent clinical experience to that of a Post Grad Diploma/master's level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area with significant experience (see below under experience), together with evidence of relevant CPD

7. Significant experience working with patients with complex needs in the specialist field.

16. Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
17. Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
18. Working knowledge of clinical medicines management
