Role: Quality Automation Engineer - Scotland
Locations: Glasgow or Edinburgh (must be willing to travel to client sites throughout the UK on an ad hoc basis)
Salary: Competitive salary and package (Depending on level of experience)
Security Clearance: Any offer of employment is subject to satisfactory BPSS and SC security clearance which requires 5 years continuous UK address history at the point of application.
Role Overview
We work hand‑in‑hand with clients to develop or improve Quality Engineering strategies. The role requires hands‑on mastery of automation and the ability to lead others. You will be exposed to a variety of domains and stacks, contributing to both client projects and internal quality communities.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement modern Quality Engineering concepts, including automated testing.
• Deploy and maintain automated test frameworks in at least one object‑oriented language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, C#, etc).
• Advise and drive quality improvement initiatives across projects.
• Engage with internal and regional Quality Engineering communities to share knowledge and shape best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
* You have a passion for improving quality, productivity and software delivery.
* You’ve spent several years defining and implementing modern Quality Engineering concepts including automated testing.
* You’re comfortable working in at least one object‑oriented programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, C#, etc).
* You have hands‑on experience with GenAI, (e.g. Playwright with MCP). Experience with AI‑assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) is required, knowledge of LangChain or LangGraph, and cloud environments is a plus.
* You love working with people to build things and solve problems together in an egoless way, regardless of their level of experience or your role in the team.
* You’re comfortable with change and always happy to learn something new; as consultants we flex our individual roles and tech stacks as required to get the best outcomes for our clients.
