Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist
Part Time, Temporary Post in Acute Medicine to cover a Maternity Leave
Please note: As this post is part-time, the salary will be pro-rata.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to temporarily join our Acute Medical team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The post will be for approximately 7 months. Days of work and hours are negotiable whilst in keeping with service need.
Our team provides input to the emergency department, acute medical receiving unit and the medical wards of this busy acute teaching hospital. We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible Occupational Therapist to join our team.
Applicants should have:
* Excellent communication, time management and prioritisation skills.
* An ability to work flexibly across areas within the acute medical remit.
* A high standard of Occupational Therapy assessment, problem solving and intervention skills.
* Clinical experience working as an Occupational Therapist within an acute or rehabilitation setting.
* A strong multi-disciplinary work ethic.
* Experience of providing clinical or nonclinical supervision.

Candidates who are currently in a Band 5 post and wish to develop their career are encouraged to apply along with those already in a Band 6 post
There will be a commitment to weekend working in the occupational therapy team at RIE as part of the 5 over 7 day working pattern.
