Role Overview
A Soft Services Director leads the strategic, operational, and financial performance of non-technical facilities services—such as cleaning, housekeeping, janitorial services, pest control, security, catering, landscaping, and waste management—to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality workplace environments.
Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement service delivery models, driving continuous improvement, and aligning soft services with business goals.
* Operational Management: Oversee daily operations for services like cleaning, security, catering, pest control, and landscaping, often across multiple sites.
* Performance & Vendor Management: Monitor KPIs and SLAs, managing relationships with contractors to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service delivery.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure all services comply with legislative, regulatory, and health and safety standards.
* Financial & Team Management: Manage departmental budgets, P&L, and lead, mentor, and motivate teams to minimize staff turnover.
Qualifications
* Experience: Proven experience in senior facilities management, specifically within soft services.
* Skills: Strong leadership, vendor management, and financial acumen.
* Knowledge: Deep understanding of H&S regulations (e.g., risk assessments, method statements).
* Education: Relevant degree in business administration, or related field is often preferred.
