RK DJ delivers award-winning entertainment for Weddings, Parties and Corporate Events across Dumfries & Galloway and beyond. We were named Scottish Wedding DJ of the Year 2025 and 2026, and over 15+ years we've built a strong reputation across the region for high standards, quality kit and a real focus on our clients.
Our aim is simple: make every wedding or event fun, unique and memorable. No copy/paste sets, no "one size fits all". Every event is planned around the couple or the client, and the standard stays high from the first song to the last.
The Role
We are looking for an Assistant DJ to help at Weddings and Events. You'll be the second set of hands on-site, helping everything run smoothly before, during and after.
That includes:
* Loading in / loading out
* Setting up and packing down sound + lighting
* Keeping things tidy, organised and looking sharp
* Helping with quick problem-solving when needed
* Being part of a professional service on the night
This role also includes capturing content at events. You'll be doing things like:
* Quick behind-the-scenes clips
* Dancefloor videos (short, energetic, the good bits)
* Photos of setup / room / lighting
* Basic edits for social (Reels/TikTok style)
You don't need to be a full-time videographer, but you should be comfortable filming, have a good eye and know what looks good online.
Flexibility
Some events you'll help with setup and come back later for pack-down. Other nights you might stay the full event. It depends on the booking and your availability - we can be flexible.
What We Are Looking For
This matters more than anything:
* Reliable – turning up on time and doing what you say you'll do
* Good with people – friendly, respectful, easy around couples, guests and venues
* Interest in music/DJing – you need to enjoy it, not just "a job"
* High standards – you care about how things look and how the night runs
* Comfortable with physical work – you'll be lifting and moving equipment as part of every event
* Basic understanding of sound and lighting – or at least a genuine interest in learning how it all works
* Can handle evenings/weekends + late finishes
Own transport is helpful (especially in this area), but not essential - we can work around it for the right person.
Bonuses (not required)

* Confidence with social media content
