The Team
Join our Section 38 team responsible for overseeing the adoption of new roads and highways built as part of developments. These roads are constructed by developers and, once completed to standards, can be adopted as public highways under Section 38 of the Highways Act 1980.
The team collaborates with developers, legal teams, planning officers, and internal highway departments throughout the development lifecycle, from design review to site inspection, ensuring legal and financial agreements are in place.
The goal of the team is to protect the Council’s interests while ensuring high-quality infrastructure for residents and travelers.
The Role
We are looking for candidates who:

* Have experience managing multiple schemes and stakeholder communication
* Are proactive and detail-oriented
* Can handle requests from the public, Councillors, and MPs

* Have basic knowledge of Section 38 Agreements
* Can engage effectively with diverse groups
* Can assess impacts of housing on the Highway Network
